Washington Post: Ex-Clinton aide Soderberg wins in Democratic primary in DeSantis’s seat
Nancy Soderberg, former Clinton national security aide and U.S. representative at the United Nations, has won the Democratic primary in the race for Florida’s battleground 6th district.
With 98 percent of precincts reporting, she led by 18,971 of almost 60,000 votes cast.
The party favorite easily defeated Stephen Sevigny, a doctor from Daytona Beach, having raised $1.7 million, more than double his total and greater than any Republican candidate in the district so far.
Soderberg is seeking to replace Ron DeSantis, who is running for governor, and will come up against an ardently pro-Trump candidate whatever the outcome of tonight’s GOP primary in the Republican-leaning seat.
