Gold Star Father Khizr Khan Endorses Nancy Soderberg for Congress

Daytona Beach – Today, Gold Star Father Khizr Khan announced his endorsement of Democratic candidate Nancy Soderberg for Florida’s 6th Congressional District.

“In 2016, I stood on stage at the Democratic National Convention and spoke about the Constitution. I understand the critical role that our diplomats play in not only defending our Constitution around the world, but also upholding our values and principles around the world. As a U.S. Ambassador, Nancy Soderberg has done just that.”

“Now, more than ever, we need to elect representatives that will protect our values, our principles, and our Constitution. With her decades of national security experience and bringing people to the table to keep our country safe, Ambassador Soderberg has the understanding and necessary skills to make an immediate impact in Washington and protect our values.”

Khizr Khan’s announcement adds to Soderberg’s growing list of endorsements, including Daytona Beach Mayor Derrick Henry, Rep. Patrick Henry, Rep. Joyce Cusack, Eustis Mayor Rob Morin, Florida Young Democrats, Democratic Environmental Caucus of St. Johns County, and AFSCME Florida. She’s also been named to the DCCC’s Red to Blue list, and has amassed endorsements from Vice President Joe Biden, Emily’s List, End Citizens United, Foreign Policy for America, International Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, and NARAL, among others.

“I am honored to have the support of Khizr Khan, who has sacrificed so much for his country,” said Soderberg. “He’s a reassuring moral compass in these uncertain times and I’m grateful to receive his endorsement.”
